ASG is the association
of school governing bodies in Swindon, formed in 1993. It is
part of a nationwide network of governing bodies through membership
of the National Governor' Assocation.
Membership is open
to governing bodies of all publicly funded schools. Currently
the subscription is invoiced by the LEA to schools (who may decline
if they wish).
Individual governors
are members by virtue of being members of a governing body which is
itself a member
Our objectives:

To promote school improvement
and high standards of governance in Swindon schools

To ensure representation of
Governors views to the Local Authority
-
To promote communication,
mutual trust and transparency between the Local Authority, schools
and other bodies through partnership working
-
To work with the Local
Authority to ensure that Governors are kept updated on new
developments, both local and national, of interest to
them
-
To facilitate the sharing of
expertise and good practice between governing bodies
-
To work with the Borough of
Swindon Governor Support Department on all matters relating to the
recruitment, induction, training and updated of
governors
-
To assist, whenever possible,
School Governing Bodies in difficulties. |
